img_7539.jpgMy name is David. I am a mid-lifer giving some thought to the journey. What is real, what is of value? What warrants my sweat, my time, my coin, my allegiance?

I wrestle with that stuff when I run, when I pray, when I blog…the rest of the time I am busy with being faithful to one, a father to four, an only son to a widow, a brother, a friend, a pastor, and a fan of hockey.

I live in Canada, just outside the greater Toronto area.

Just by reading a few of your posts – you obviously have a lot to share with men out there.

Glad I stumbled across your blog.

Hey, I just stumbled on your blog and I’m really impressed. As a 16 year old Christian, I got a real faith boost out of reading about your struggles and discoveries. It means I’m not alone in trying to find my way to God. Plus, I was just really moved by some of your blogs about parenting. It’s so comforting to know that there are dads out there who are not only trying to do the best for their kids physically, socially and emotionally, but spiritually too. I know this blog is for males, but I just wanted to let you know that what you’re doing is really important. Keep it up and don’t get discouraged! It’s so important to both the youth of our society and the adults.
    Thanks for all you’re doing!
    God bless,
    Elizabeth

can’t remember what random way I arrived at your blog this morning! I think it atarted with trying to find out a little more about a poet named arthur Guiterman! Anyway I was encouraged by your blog and subscribed to the feed. I live in Wales (Rugby nation!) and travel to downtown Toronto 4 times a year, spending most of my time in Indigo/chapters or the greatest book shop in the world!

First heard Dr Ravi Zaccharia use this wonderful piece of poetry to illustrate vanity and the vanity of modern civcilization. I think personally that it is an astute rendition of the subject and a wonderful piece of intelligent composition. I thus sought to find the original author. I must say that i am encouraged by your values and dedications in life. i truely am challenged to the beautiful simplisity of life and of trust in God. I am a preacher from Nigeria living in Abuja – the capital city
